Connie S. Yuengel's Obituary
Connie Sue Yuengel, 78, of Dupo, IL., born December 19, 1945, in St, Louis, MO., earned her eternal rest Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family, she will affectionately be remembered as the family historian. Her entire career was spent as an early education teacher in the Dupo area where she loved teaching her many students over the decades. Connie loved to travel, visiting 47 states out of the lower 48, and was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church of Collinsville, Il.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Delpha Mae Russell; brother, William E. Russell Jr.; nephews, Scott A Russell and Joel E. Russell; sister-in-law, Sandra Russell.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela (John) Pierce of Granite City, IL.; her grandchildren, Micah (Jamie) Whaley of Dupo, IL., Sarah (Zach) Hopkins of Belleville, IL., Seth Whaley of Dupo, IL., Alexis Pierce of Granite City, IL. And Ethan (Micaela) Pierce of Granite City, IL.; her great-grandchildren, Rylee Imhoff, Parker Whaley, Memphis Whaley and Declan Hopkins; brothers, Ronald E. Russell and Terry L. (Judy) Russell; nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Tom) McMahon, Michael (Christine) Russell and Kelly (Geoff) Miller. She was also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews & foster grandchildren, Guadalupe Gomez Campos, Lucia Gomez and Isabela Martinez.
Visitation: Friends may visit 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Leesman Funeral Home, Dupo, IL.
Funeral: Services for Connie will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Leesman Funeral Home, Dupo, IL., burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
