Colleen Sprenger's Obituary
Red Bud- Colleen Sprenger, 95, passed away at 2:14 AM, Monday, March 1, 2021 at Cedarhurst of Sparta.
Colleen was born on November 9, 1925 in St. Louis, MO to Charles Freeman and Katherine Hilma( Gillin) Gray. She married Hubert Walker Sprenger in St. Louis in 1946 and he preceded her in death in June of 2003.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Red Bud. She was a hardworking woman who was a real estate broker for many years. She owned Sprenger Real Estate and was licensed in Illinois and Kentucky.
She volunteered her time with the Eastern Star and was past Worthy Matron and she was also a member of the Red Bud Women’s Club. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and home decorating.
Survivors include her sons- Stephen Sprenger and Scott Sprenger, both of Red Bud, granddaughter- Cassandra Thorson and husband Matthew of Benton, KY, three great grandchildren, and one brother- Charles Gray and wife Nila of Percy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Red Bud City Cemetery. Rev. Tim McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow at Red Bud City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud.
