Clifford H. Luthy's Obituary
Clifford H. Luthy, 94 Years, of Baldwin, IL, passed away on March 23, 2017 at Red Bud Regional Care, Red Bud, IL. He was born September 3, 1922, in Willisville, IL. He was married to the late LaVerna, nee Nagel, Luthy. She had passed away November 7, 2013. They were married October 26, 1941, in Campbell Hill, IL.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Baldwin 312 S. 5th St., Baldwin, IL. He was retired from Peabody Coal where he had worked as a Certified Roof Bolter. Clifford felt it to be very important to spend time with family. He enjoyed farming with his sons throughout their lives.
Surviving are his daughter, Janet (Sam) Brown of Avenue, MD, daughter-in-law, Melba Luthy, grandchildren, Michael (Kristi) Kelly, Susan Reinhardt, Renee Luthy, and Katherine (Peter) Zawada, great-grandchildren, Brett, Nathan, Amber, Joseph, Emily, Kaleigh, Jake, and Parker, and greatgreat-grandchildren, Mariah,Braden, and Kayli.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Emma, nee Salger, Luthy, sons, Allen and Dale Luthy, brother, Leland W. Luthy, along with a sister, Jewel Gross.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, Baldwin, IL. Funeral Services will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with Pastor Raymond Holman, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Baldwin, IL.
