Clarence Dale Harvell, 77 years of East Carondelet, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at John Cochran VA Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. He was born July 17, 1947, in East St. Louis, IL
Dale was a retired machinist from Cerro Copper in Sauget, IL., with over 35 years of service. Dale was a 1965 graduate of Dupo Community High School, he was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL., and the VFW Post 6368 formerly in Dupo. He enjoyed deer, duck, rabbit and squirrel hunting, as well as trapping, gardening, bow shooting and gunsmithing. Dale was a proud Vietnam Army veteran.
Surviving are his 2 daughters, Rachel (Michael) Gomric and Kim (Mike) Reichling, his son, Chad (Ellie) Harvell, his grandchildren, Dustin Deatherage, Josh Wilson, Kirsten (Corey) Biggs, Grayson (Karyn) Wilson, Joseph Gomric, Christopher Gomric, Marcus Hahn, Mikenna Reichling, Olivia Reichling, and Haylee Harvell, great grandchildren, Blakely Wilson, Easton Deatherage, Lorelei Gomric, Lincoln Deatherage, Aurora Gomric, Josie Gomric, Blaire Biggs and Blaine Biggs, his brother, Dennis (Terri) Harvell, his sisters, Alice (Jerry) Devany, Karen Gower, and Gail (Jay) Harvell, his sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Debbie Wilson, Lee (Judy) Wilson, Jerry (Tanja) Wilson and Lisa Biggs, along numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Harvell, nee Beggs, his father, Clarence Harvell, his mother and step-father, Betty Jean and Glenn Laws, his sister, Cathy (Mike) McNair, his brothers-law, Lawrence Beggs and Jim Biggs.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL., and an hour before the service on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Christ Church in Dupo, IL. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL., with Pastor Todd Mushaney, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
