Christopher Carron's Obituary
Christopher Carron, 97 years old of Millstadt, Illinois, was called by Jesus on February 21, 2020. Chris was born March 11, 1922 in Bloomsdale, Missouri, and was the son of the late Joseph Clark and Margaret, nee Jacobs, Carron. He was married March 11, 1944 to Maybelle, nee Kleinschmidt, Carron who passed away January 30, 2015.
Chris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from the Alton & Southern Railroad. Although his wife proceeded him in death by five years, he still missed her every day. They were married 72 years never spending more than a couple days apart. During his last week, while alert, he would talk about seeing a big dragonfly that would fly around him. Some people believe dragonflies are the souls of departed loved ones, reassuring them that they are okay in the afterlife. Chris’ family chooses to believe this, and also chooses to believe that Chris and Mabel are fishing by the pond together once again
Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Kevin) Kronk of Millstadt, IL; son, Terry (Cathy) Carron of Millstadt, IL; four grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Carron of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Heather (Matthew) Greenly of O'Fallon, MO, Kristy (Jacob) Sharp of Columbia, IL, and Travis (Kayla) Kronk of Millstadt, IL; great-grandchildren, Owen and Max Sharp, Pearl, Addison, and Henry Kronk, Olivia and Haley Greenly, and Seth and Shelby Carron, along with other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Randall W. Carron, along with 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2020, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Millstadt, IL, and Monday, February 24, 2020, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Millstadt, IL. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday February 24, at the Church, with Pastor Peter Ill, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, Illinois.
