Christina Gaerig's Obituary
Christina Gaerig, 92 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on August 23, 2018 at Red Bud Regional Care Center in Red Bud, IL. Christina was born February 19, 1926 in Dowell, IL.
Christina was a homemaker and member of Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church of Royalton, IL. She was born and raised in Dowell, IL before marrying John W. Gaerig and moving to Du Quoin, IL where they lived until they moved to Red Bud, IL in 1969.
Surviving are her daughter, Julie Gaerig Bransky along with husband Howard Bransky, son, John Gaerig and wife Julie Crim Gaerig, grandchildren, Alexes and Audrey Gaerig, along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Christina was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Gaerig, parents, Daniel and Julia (nee Bobbish) Thomas, sister, Mary Heinze, brothers, Daniel and John Thomas.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton, IL. Services will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, with Reverend Father Frederick Janecek officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Royalton, IL.
