I met Mr. Schmidt at Oak Hill while my mother, Geneva, was there. We would talk while he sat in the lobby and read his paper. He was a gentleman, and I enjoyed our conversations.
I came to know Chester first as our insurance agent when we first moved to town and then later as a friend. He was always such a kind and humble man and we shared many laughs together. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to your family.
I did not know Mr. Schmidt except through church when I was growing up. He was one of those silent but strong type of people who was always charitable through his kindness. Prayers for your family as you say goodbye to a person who taught people to be humble and kind.
