Chester Kent Hines' Obituary
Chester Kent Hines, 76 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital, Town and Country, MO. He was born in Glasgow, MT, the son of the late Howard and Helen (Petter) Hines. Chester was an avid athlete, and even in his later years, participated in golf, baseball, basketball, and bowling. In his youth he was an accomplished boxer, having been a champion in the Golden Gloves program in Seattle, WA. Memberships included, Columbia Jaycees, Columbia Gymnastic Association, and Teamsters Local #688, St. Louis, MO. He was a retired driver with Interstate Brands Bakery, St. Louis, MO. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was married to the late Mary (Hirsch) Hines. They were married on August 29, 1959, at Hollywood, CA. She had passed away July 5, 2005.
