Charlotte A. Mattingly's Obituary
Charlotte A. Mattingly, 78 yrs., of Red Bud, IL, and formerly of Columbia, IL. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy, nee Camp, Burks. Charlotte was born March 28, 1938 in Decatur, IL. Shortly after her birth, she lost her mother and was raised by her Aunt Marguerite, along with six cousins that she considered her siblings. While attending Illinois State University she met Dale, the love of her life. They were married on February 15, 1958 in Bloomington, IL. He passed away September 22, 2016. Charlotte was an exceptional wife and a caring mother to her children, Brenda, Karla and Allen. Along with Dale, she and their family ran a jewelry store for nearly 50 years. She will always be remembered as someone who loved sewing, reading, crafts, cooking, babies and making quilts for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved her dog Mattie.
