Charles J. "Butch" Klein's Obituary
Charles J. 'Butch' Klein, Sr., 73 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on December 3, 2018. He was born December 12, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late Arnold and Vera, nee Kropp, Klein. He was married to Alice, nee Pretto, Klein, who survives him. They were married on March 2, 1965, in Columbia, IL.
Butch was a lifelong Columbia area farmer. He had owned and operated CBK, Inc., a river barge tankering and repair business.
Also, surviving are his son, John (Jacqueline) Klein, Jr. of Smithton, IL; daughter, Marsha Klein of Columbia, IL; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Klein of Columbia, IL, C.J. Klein, III of Columbia, IL, Juliana (Joseph) Schaefer of Millstadt, IL; sister, Karen (Michael) Looney of Sarasota, FL, along with other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel C. Klein.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2018, 9:30 am - 11:30 am, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am, Thursday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Friz officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
