Deepest condolences to Dorothy Huelsmann and family on the loss of Chuck. I knew him through his sister, Miriam, but also through the farming organizations I covered for the Breese Journal. Mim & I always stopped at Chuck & Dorothy's during Spring Bird Count and they always made sure we had something cold to drink & something good to eat plus were interested in what we'd seen. We also visited with them in Florida. He was great to visit with, always interested in everything and was such a gentleman. He'll be missed. Again, deepest condolences. Mary L. Heeren

Uncle Chuck was a gentle man loved and respected by all. Born and raised in Trenton, he devoted his earlier years to the farm, to helping grandpa and aunt Mim as well as to helping the community at large and other farmers’ concerns more specifically. He was quiet, kind and thoughtful. In his later years he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy, and she brought a joy to his heart we had not seen before. I’m ever thankful they married and my deepest sympathies for Dorothy now as she navigates through this most difficult time.

I was so sad to hear about Uncle Chucks passing. I have nothing but the greatest of memories of him from all throughout my life. Visiting him and Aunt Dorothy was always a great time and we visited them often with my mom, Rebecca Rapp, and my grandmother, Elva Ranz. I will miss him dearly and am thankful for all the positive memories of him. My prayers are with Aunt Dorothy during this very hard time. Love you all. Jaime Smith (Rapp)

I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My condolences to Dorothy and the family. My Uncle Chuck was one of the smartest men I knew. He worked long hard hours on the farm and was still patient with me and my sisters when we moved back to the farm in Trenton many years ago. He could fix or repair anything and was great at helping me with my math homework. Those years living with Uncle Chuck and Aunt Mim on the farm were some of my happiest childhood memories. You will be greatly missed.

I met Chuck & Dorothy at Garden Place where I worked as an attendant, often on their hall. He was the most attentive and loving husband to Dorothy! Rarely did he ever ask for help for himself as he was a very intelligent, cheerful and independent man. He and Dorothy were always one of my favorite couples, always together and perfectly suited for each other!
My condolences to the family! Please give Dorothy a hug for me! 🌹
