Charles J. Grueninger's Obituary
Charles Grueninger was born in Columbia, Illinois, son of the late Albert and Ida (Frierdich) Grueninger. He was co owner of Columbia Motors, Inc. in Columbia until his retirement. He was a member of the Columbia Rotary Club, Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of First National Bank of Columbia, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, RSVP, Old Newsboys Day, Charter Member of the Waterloo Country Club, Waterloo Sportsmen Club, Rules of the Road instructor for senior citizens, active with church government at Immaculate Conception and said the monthly rosary at the Columbia Convalescent Center. Charlie was very active in many city and church events. He was the husband of the late Pearl C. (Frierdich) Grueninger, who had passed away Dec. 16, 1992. They were married June 21, 1933.
