Cecilia B. Toenjes' Obituary
Cecilia B. Toenjes, 75 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on July 26, 2017 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was born December 27, 1941, in Paderborn, IL. She was married to Eugene Toenjes, who survives her. They were married August 23, 1961, in Paderborn, IL.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Cecilia was employed at Immaculate Conception School for 27 years and a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved gardening, canning, and mushroom hunting.
Surviving are Son, Robert (Darla) Toenjes of Columbia, IL; Five Daughters, Catherine (Joseph) Johnson of Waterloo, IL, Jeannie (Robert) Roedl of Waterloo, IL, Donna Toenjes of Evansville, IL, Carol (Neal) Schilling of Waterloo, IL, Ann (Ed) Luedeman of Waterloo, IL; 15 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Anna Marie (Jack) Crowe of Freeburg, IL, Close Friend, Virginia Spier, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Helen, nee Schoenborn, Klein, along with 7 Brothers and Sisters.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2017, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. and Monday July 31, 2017, 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
