Catherine Marlo, a beloved presence in Columbia, IL, peacefully passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 96. Services will be held at 11:15 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, IL. A Family Committal Service is scheduled for 12:45 PM following the service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Catherine (Anthonies) Marlo graced this world on March 30, 1927, leaving an indelible mark. Her life story is one of resilience, love, and unwavering dedication. She married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Marlo, and together they raised five children: Donna, Mike, Phyllis, Tom, and Steve.
Catherine's life was a testament to her commitment as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and proud Mimi. She found joy in family gatherings, especially around the card table or in her meticulously decorated home during holidays. Her legendary chicken and dumplings always guaranteed a full house. A dedicated bingo player, casino lover, and crafter, Catherine lived life with enthusiasm.
In 2022, Catherine relocated to Scottsdale, AZ, spending her final chapter surrounded by family. Even in her last days, she shared precious moments with her family, even winning her final game of dominos with a triumphant score of 75 to 323.
Catherine is survived by her five children, twelve grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Catherine Marlo's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Vaya con dios, sweet Mimi.
