Catherine Ann Evans' Obituary
Catherine "Cathy" Ann Evans, 65 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on March 29, 2024 at her home, Columbia, IL. She was born September 24, 1958, in Belleville, IL.
Cathy was very active in CASA of St. Louis, Missouri and the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, Missouri. She had worked for Boeing as an auditor for over twenty five years until her retirement in 2023. She had earned degrees in Bachelors of Science, Masters of Arts Management and a Masters of Human Services.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Evans of Columbia, IL, her two sisters, Sharon (John C., Sr. ) Durrer, Waterloo, IL and Linda Robitisch of Columbia, IL, her two nieces, Elizabeth (Leonard) Brooks of Columbia, IL, and Mary Ann Edwards, her two nephews, John C (Tanya) Durrer, Jr. of Waterloo, IL, and Justin Robitisch of Highland, IL, along with numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lorenz John Thoma, her mother, Aurelia Marie Thoma, her husband James Evans, and her sister, Jean Tiff.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home - Columbia, IL. Memorial services will be held, Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:30 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Columbia, IL with Father Steve Thoma officating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Baptist Children's Home Residential Care, 949 CR 1300 N., Carmi, IL 62821 or Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, 1300 Strassner Drive, Brentwood, MO 63144.
