Carol Faye Tobin's Obituary
Carol Faye Tobin, age 76, of Evansville, IL, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at Red Bud Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born January 12, 1949, in Red Bud, IL. to the late Carl H. and Verna M. (Stamm) Schrader.
Growing up, Carol attended Red Bud High School where she was an honor roll student and also a member of the chorus. She also participated in many school clubs and plays. Carol was a big sports fan, especially watching her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved to watch Fighting Illini basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Carol worked a few different jobs over the years before being hired as medical records personnel at Memorial Hospital and then Red Bud Regional Hospital from where she eventually retired. When Carol wasn't working or watching The Fighting Illini, she could be found cooking for and spending time with her family. Her best dishes were a variety of delicious soups and gooey butter cake. She also enjoyed playing board games and cards, especially euchre and go fish, going to concerts and playing with her dog Livy. Carol had a fondness for German Shepherds, owning at least four at one time or another.
Surviving are her loving husband, James Tobin of Evansville, IL, son, Jarrod (Lana) Tobin, daughter, Jill (Ryan) Wetzel, grandchildren: Hannah Wetzel and Kaeden Tobin, Great-Grandchild, Oaklynn Brennan, along with many loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, Ruma, IL. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, Ruma, IL., with Pastor Randy Fischer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ruma, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ruma, IL.
