Carol I. Schneider's Obituary
Carol I. Schneider, 76 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur, MO. She was born in Carbondale, IL, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Popovich) Dohanich. Carol had a passion for children and learning. She had a long and accomplished career as an elementary school teacher in the Columbia and Cahokia School Districts. Her quiet generosity, motherly wisdom, and passion for music will be remembered by many. She was a member of Columbia Sister Cities, St. Paul Lutheran Church (where she was a former director of the St. Paul pre-school), Red Hat Society, Columbia Gymnastic Association Aux. (past President), and was a member of several Bridge clubs. She was married to Lester W. Schneider, who survives her. They were married on August 17, 1963, in Columbia, IL.
