Carol M. Altvater's Obituary
Carol M. Altvater, 90 years, of Waterloo, IL, and formerly of St. Louis, MO, passed away on November 9, 2020 at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. She was born August 4, 1930, in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Roy and Dolly, nee Eckert, Knoll. She was married to the late William A. Altvater. They were married December 28, 1957, in St. Louis, MO. He had passed away January 21, 2000.
Carol had been active in the Job's Daughters when she was younger. She had been an avid reader and loved jigsaw puzzles. Being a homemaker, family outings, and mothering to her son and grandchildren was her passion in life.
Surviving are her son, David (Peggy) Altvater of Columbia, IL; grandchildren, Zach Altvater of Columbia, IL, Anne (Kevin Dossett) Voelker of Columbia, IL, Brad (Haleigh) Altvater of St. Louis, MO, Brian (Erica) McDermott of Columbia, IL, Kelly (Mitchell) Bell of Acworth, GA, and Patrick (Megan) McDermott of Columbia, IL; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Wesley, Lucy, Chloe, Riley, Janie, Wyatt, Sloan, Brooke, and Maddox; brother-in-law, Paul Altvater; sister-in-law, Chris Altvater, along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Fay (Earl) McBride, Velda (Sparks) Wren, and Arline (Skip) Kuepfert; sister-in-law, Shirley (Rick) Ricklin, and brother-in-law, Harold (Shirley) Altvater.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all services will be private. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
