I'm incredibly sorry to hear this. I was out of town and only now heard. I loved Dr. Samson so much, and followed her from one office to another from the beginning of her career to the end. Words cannot express my sadness nor my condolences to the family. She helped fight to save my career, and after sending several letters to my employer, the last letter basically said they were full of llama manure, but in a much nicer way. She was so special!
My sincere sympathy to dr carla’s husband and children et al! she was my dr for a few years until I remarried and became a pat of dr weis. One memory I have of dr Samson was watching her rush into the Ear at st eluzabeth’s in Belleville. She had two children in tow and I assumed they were dr samson’s kids. I also assumed that she was going to be a pt who was in th er...and her kids were possibly taken care of by the er clerks while dr Samson went to be with her pt!!
I met Dr. Samson when she was with the resident program. For a time she delivered babies at BMH and I had occasions to see her comforting and quiet care. 0ver the years our paths crossed. She was a blessing to her patients.
I didn’t know Carla very well but my sister, Laura, loved her and took very good care of her for these past few years and I know Carla was a very special loving and caring person and how everyone will miss her so much.
God must have needed a wonderful Doctor. Dr. Sam lovingly cared for my wife Dorothy for more than 30 years, and myself. I loved this lady, and her "Team." My family loved her also. Dr. Sam was a gracious giver, and will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

It is very rare to be able to say you were "best friends" with someone for 50 years -- particularly when you live in different areas of the country. Our friendship began in college, and endured over the miles and years, and, when we needed the support, we somehow were there for one another. Carla made me a better person -- more sensitive, more considerate, a better listener, and more God centered. We shared so many joys and managed so many sorrows!! I will miss my dear, dear friend, yet continue to enjoy her through friendship with her sweet husband and marvelous kids. Thoughts of her are kisses from an angel.
Carla was a friend from high school, a friend from La Lethe League, and my doctor. She was an awesome woman who cared about people. I will miss her but will remember her always. Lynn Hegeman
My thoughts and prayers go out to you Don and the kids. She was a great person. A great Dr., swim team mom, the list can go on and on. She will be greatly missed.
Carla was my doctor (and most of my family's) for over 30 years. She was not just my doctor, she was my friend. I first went to her when she was pregnant with her first son. We shared a lot of stories and cried together on more than one occasion. She delivered our first grandchild and took care of my mother for 30 plus years until her death at the age of 95. She was literally the best person I have ever known. I prayed for her every night for 7 years. I am profoundly sorry that she lost her battle. My sympathy and prayers are now with your family. An angel on earth is gone.
