She was born in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of the late Elmer and Barbara (Faries) Berghoefer. She had been a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL, Monroe County Human Support Services, Social Skills Group, Choir Group, and The Special Olympics.
