I was honored to serve as a Circuit Clerk during Barney's tenure in St. Clair. We would meet at conferences and he was always a gentleman and very diligent in his efforts to make the Court run as smoothly and as efficiently as possible. He provided much guidance and support to all the newly elected circuit clerks. We retired the same year. May Perpetual Light shine upon him and all the faithfully departed and may he rest in Peace, Amen.
Mr. Metz was truly a man of honor and was respected by all who knew him. He will truly be missed. My deepest sympathy to his family.
Mr. Metz was a respectful gentleman. He always spoke and gave a smile to everyone. Although we have memories, people like him are rare these days!
With the passing of Barney Metz and Merle Justice that marks the end of an era. He and what he stood for will be missed. His family has our sincere sympathy on his passing. We are sorry to miss his Memorial Service. We are leaving for Atlanta, GA early tomorrow morning to be with our family for Easter. Tom & Joan Adams.
