Brian G. Baker's Obituary
Brian G. Baker, 62 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born in Geneva, IL, the son of the late Robert and Irene (Kjell) Baker.Brian was a physical therapist at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. He was an active member of Hope Christian Church in Columbia, where he was an elder and a Bible study leader. He volunteered with Good Samaritan Ministries in Washington Park, IL, joining his wife as she ministered to local youth. As a young man, Brian enjoyed swimming, marathon running, playing the guitar, and walking on his hands. As of late, he took pleasure in walks with JoAnn and embraced the challenges of golf. Brian embodied joie de vivre; loved movies, athletics, and music; and was naturally gifted with children and the elderly. He had a curiosity for science and world-view studies from a biblical perspective; and was always quick to offer a positive spin on events and crack a witty joke.He was married to JoAnn (Gregson) Baker. They were married on December 29, 1990, at Hecker, IL.
