Brant Alan Wilhelm's Obituary
Brant Alan Wilhelm, 36 years of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of East Carondelet, Illinois., passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 in Grinnell, IA. He was born October 6, 1986, in Belleville, Illinois.
Brant was an A&P aircraft mechanic for UPS at the Cedar Rapids Airport. He received Bachelor's degrees in Applied Science and Aviation Technology at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale. Brant enjoyed anything outdoors including kayaking, sailing, fishing, hunting, hiking and snowboarding. He loved power paragliding, and taking his hammock and tent to camp in the outdoors. Brant enjoyed building and creating things. He could fix almost anything that was broken.
Surviving are his parents, Monte & Mary Wilhelm, his fiance: Hanna Nguyen and her children, Melanie, Kardyn and Jadlyn, his brother, Eric (Kristin) Wilhelm, his niece & nephew, Reagan and Mason Wilhelm, his grandfather, James Wilhelm, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Erik Allen Wilhelm, his paternal grandmother, Teddie Jeanette Wilhelm, his maternal grandparents, Wilmer & Gertrude Rennegarbe.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2023, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at First Baptist Church in Columbia, Illinois, and on Friday, June 2, 2023, 9:00 am - 10:00 am, First Baptist Church in Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., on Friday June 2, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Columbia, Illinois., with Pastor Jonathan Peters, officiating. Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Wounded Warriors or Samaritans Purse. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, Illinois.
