Bonnie J. Hazel's Obituary
Bonnie J. Hazel, nee Plain, 80 years of Dupo, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Delmar Gardens of Meramac Valley, Fenton, MO. She was born October 27, 1941, in East Prairie, MO.
Bonnie was a member of Assembly of God Church in Cahokia Heights, IL. She had worked as a clerk for the St. Clair County Courthouse in Belleville, IL., and she drove a school bus for Dupo Community School District for several years. She enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Harold Hazel, her daughters, Carrie (Roger) McLean & Vanesa Hazel, her grandchildren, Rodney McLean & Ashley (Josh) Schuerman, her great grandchildren, Charity, Joshua Jr., Phoebe & Jace Schuerman, her brothers, Richard Plain & Rodger (Marie) Plain, her sisters, Debbie Privitt & Linda Plain & her brother, Russell (Katrina) Plain, she is also survived by nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Cully Hazel, her parents, Walter and Ellen Louise, nee Neal, Plain, her brother-in-law, Leonard Privitt and her sister & brother-in-law, Wanda & Larry Wilson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, IL.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 10:00 am at Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia, IL., with Rev. Edward Bennett, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Assembly of God Church in Cahokia Heights, IL. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home.
