Bonnie Lee Dehne's Obituary
Bonnie Lee (Glenn) Dehne was born in Sparta,IL, on October 16, 1948, the beloved daughter of James and Fern Glenn. She married Dale Dehne on Dec. 23, 1966 at St. John Lutheran Church, Sparta.
Bonnie loved all children and ministered to them throughout her life. She was very involved in her church: on the Board of Christian Education, teaching Sunday School, writing and leading Christmas programs, leading VBS crafts, and giving the children’s message. She was also very active in Scouts. Her hobbies included reading, crafts, card playing and cake decorating.
Bonnie worked at Sparta Primary, Red Bud Elementary School, Head Start in Praire du Rocher and Evansville. Wonder Years in Belleville, St John Kids at the Red Bud Catholic Church
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dale Dehne, her children: David (Lisa) Dehne, Tracy (Jason) Poenitske, Kathy (Matt) Tilla, John (Jill) Dehne, Don (Cathleen) Dehne, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one sister, Connie (Rich) Wolter
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Henry & Iva Brenning, paternal grandparents, James “Ira” & Nina Glenn, parents Jim & Fern Glenn
Bonnie Lee Glenn Dehne, 75, of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 27, in her home.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1st from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Sparta, Illinois. A second visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2nd at St. John Lutheran Church in Sparta, Illinois from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, with funeral services beginning at 10:00 am with Pastor Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Christian Education or the Praise Band, 1110 N Market St., Sparta, IL 62286.
