Billy L Mezo's Obituary
Billy L. Mezo, 78, of Fairmont City, Ill., born January 21, 1938 in Jackson County, Ill., passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Billy was a retired Teamster from Local 50, he was a United States Navy Veteran, he was a memer of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 504 and had served on the board at the Fairmont Village Credit Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Gladys, nee Sickler, Mezo, and his two brothers, Homer Mezo and Butch Gruen.
He is survived by his significant other, Joanne Dinges, his two daughters, Julie (Russell) Groves and Christina Mezo, his grandson, Joshua (Jessica Lawson) Groves, his great granddaughter, Hazel Mae Groves, his brother, Teddy (Ann) Mezo, his sister, Maryann (Ronnie) Bell, his lifetime friend, Carralee Mezo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, cats and dogs. He was a mentor, hero and most importantly a kind, generous, silly man.
Services: There will be no services held. At Billy’s request, he was cremated.
