Beverly Kay McKelvey's Obituary
Beverly Kay McKelvey passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
She was born on August 1, 1950, in Lexington Tennessee and lived in East Peoria Illinois until the age of 21. Bev later built a life centered around faith, family, and community. She was united in marriage to Randy McKelvey on May 31, 2019.
Bev was a devoted member of the Turkey Hill Garage and the First Baptist Church of O’Fallon and Legacy Seniors. She was deeply involved in her church and community, always willing to lend a helping hand. When she wasn’t busy with church and community activities, Bev loved being at home caring for her precious cats and enjoying shopping. She enjoyed cooking, baking and the simple things like a McDonald’s coke, a refreshing glass of tea and a celebratory glass of champagne.
Bev dedicated many years of her professional life to the accounting field. She worked for 30 years in the accounting department at Cargill and later continued her career with Conagra for 16 years.
In her earlier years, Bev sang with the Sweet Adelines and had a love for travel and music that brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Claud and Gussie McCollum, Earnest Orindorf, her late husband of 23 years; her sister, Barbara Ann (Virgil) McMurtrey of Crocker, Mo; and her brother, Tony McCollum of Washington, IL.
Surviving is her husband Randy McKelvey of Belleville, Illinois; her many nieces and nephews: Larry (Shelly) McMurtrey and Shelley Nordwall; Gary (Kelly) McCollum; Keith (Carmen) McCollum and Deanie (Jonathan) Srakovcic. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be held: March 7, 2026 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of O’Fallon 1111 E. Highway 50 O’Fallon Illinois
