Steven Mcclay
I stayed with Betty and Frank in Greenburg, Pa after boot camp in 1983. Gertrude Bouas also lived with them. Frank took me into Pittsburg to see the city, Betty stayed home to take care of Gertrude.
Betty was a caregiver to her Mom. She took that role on, a tough one, and she was very good at it. Gertrude lived to be 100. My grandmother Elva McClay was thankful for Betty taking care of Gertrude, because she was the only sibling that was strong enough to do it.
Other memories of family reunions as a child, I always looked forward to seeing Betty and Frank. Frank was the hotdog and burger grill master, and Betty was so pleasant and warm. I alway felt like Betty really cared about me, and was interested in what I had going on at the time.
Betty was a blessing in my life.
