Betty Lou (Small) Marlen, 83 years, of East Carondelet, IL, passed away on December 24, 2013 at Reflections at Garden Place, Columbia, IL. She was born in Fairmont City, IL, daughter of the late William Taylor and Pearl Rula (Burris) Small. She was married to the late Vernon Scott Marlen. They were married August 28, 1948, in Edwardsville, IL. He had passed away February 23, 2011.
Betty's family was the center of her life. She was passionate about caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. Betty spent her free time sewing, quilting and cooking. Her church and church family were close to her heart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dupo, IL and the Order of the Eastern Star.
