Betty A. Cox's Obituary
Betty A. Cox, nee Cline, 80 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, IL. She was born August 6, 1942, in Ullin, IL.
Betty loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her community of Red Bud, and all of her friends. Her past-times were sewing & crafts, gardening, helping her husband restore old cars, traveling, and watching baseball. She was a beautician for twenty five years and was the owner of Betty's Beauty Shop in Red Bud.
On, October 20, 1962, in Tamms, IL were she was united in marriage to Orvel Louis Cox, and to this union two children were born. They shared sixty years of marriage together.
Surviving are her husband, Orvel L. Cox of Red Bud, IL, her daughter, Becky Lynn Cox of St. Louis, MO, her son, Jim L. (Erin) Cox of Red Bud, IL, her grandchildren, Tyler Cox & Jacob Cox, her great-grandchildren, Peighton Cox, Kendyll Cox, Cason Cox, Waylon Cox and Walker Cox, her sister, Minnie Jordan of Clay, New York, her sister-in-law, Rosemary Mills of San Marcos, California, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim & Bertha, nee Coleman, Cline, her grandchild, Jamie Cox and her sister, Sherry Jordan, brother-in-laws, Gerald Jordan, Larry Jordan, and Ken Mills.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 from 4:00pm till 7:00 pm at Leesman Funeral Home Red Bud, Illinois. There will be an additional visitation Saturday, March 18, 2023, at St. Peter United Church of Christ from 10:00am till the time of service.
Services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00am, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Red Bud, Illinois with Pastor Cory Hartz will be officiating. There will be a luncheon held at the church following services.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Red Bud, IL or to Give Kids the World Village, 210 S Bass Rd. Kissimmee, Florida 34746.
