Bettie L. Young's Obituary
Bettie L. nee Ball, Young, 80 years of New Athens, IL., born June 1, 1938, in Decatur, IL., passed away on December 18, 2018 at New Athens Home for the Aged in New Athens, IL.
Bettie worked as a laborer for Gilster Mary Lee Corporation, until retirement. She was a past member of the New Athens Methodist Church, in New Athens, IL.
Bettie was preceded in death by husband, Edward Young, whom she married March 21, 1956, in Decatur, IL.; parents, William J. and Helen V., nee O'Conner, Ball; son, Allen Young; daughter, Glenda Ann Herbert; an infant son, Edward Young Jr; two daughter-in-laws, Donna Young and Nancy Young; grandson, William Young; two sisters and brother- in- laws, Rosemary (Floyd) Chartland and Marjorie (Dewey) Holland.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda (Sidney) Skorcz and Linda Ford; three Sons, Michael (Debbie) Young, Daniel Young and Timothy Young; brother, Robert Ball; son-in-law, James Joseph Herbert; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Red Bud City Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
