Bertie was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Kossina, whom she married April 1, 1935 and who died February 1, 2000, her daughter: Marlyn Henson, her parents: George & Mary, nee Metzger, Diehl, her brother: Elmer Diehl, and her sister: Ella Diehl Kuni. She is survived by her son: Clark (JoAnn) Kossina of Columbia, IL., her son-in-law: J. Donald Henson Sr. of Columbia, IL., her grandchildren: Mike (Wenda) Kossina of Columbia, IL., Dave (Susie) Kossina of Millstadt, IL., DeeAnn (David) Stroop of Fairfax Station, Va., J.D. (Aimee) Henson Jr. of Makakilo, Hawaii, Karri (Karl) Mize of Jeffersonton, VA., her great grandchildren: Josh, Mikaela, Malia, Tony, Cal, Joey, Kaytie, Richard, Adam, Sarah, Russell, Jacob, Brandon, Kameror and Kasey, she is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elevator Fund at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL.
