Bernice L. Salger's Obituary
Bernice L. Salger, nee Stellhorn, 98 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. She was born October 27, 1925, in Prairie, IL. .
Bernice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie, Mary Martha Mission Society, the Trinity Quilters, she enjoyed baking, sewing , making quilts, crocheting and playing cards. Bernice had a very big family and spending time with them was more important than any gift she could have received.
Surviving are her children, E. Gary (Sandra) Salger, Judith Kluba, Marian Elliott, Danny (Cheryl) Salger, Darrell (Tammy) Salger & Genelle (Rick) Thomas, her grandchildren, Anthony (Sandy) Salger, Michael Salger, Maurita (Justin) Clark, John Kluba, Katie (John Rodriguez) Kluba, Matthew Kluba, Brian Gregson, Tracy (John) Koch, Derek (Tiffany) Gregson, Gina Kingsley, Brad Elliott, Jr., Rebecca (Melvin) Ball, Jeffrey (Jackie) Elliott, Chris (Sherry) Salger, Wendy (David) Spizzirri, Jamie (Tom) Wurm, Denny (Lauren) Sellers III, Dillon (Anna Fritschman) Salger, Garrett Salger, Todd (Mary Jane) Salger, Emma Salger, Joel (Theresa) Esker, Jacqueline (Eli) Aubuchon, Dustin (Meghan) Esker and Amanda (Josh) Thomas, her great grandchildren, Shelby Salger, Chase Salger, Paulina Clark, Gavin Clark, Lewie Clark, Wyatt Kluba, Savannah Kluba, Tyler (Meredith Mullens) Koch, Josie Koch, Jordyn Koch, Taryn Gregson, Andrew Gregson, Caleb Kingsley, Lane Kingsley, Cash Kingsley, Johnathan (Sierra) Elliott, Gabriella Elliott, Rachael Elliott, Jakob Elliott, Aubrey Elliott, Stella Elliott, Logan Salger, Addison Salger, Matthew Spizzirri, Alex Spizzirri, Caleb Wurm, Peyton Wurm, Ava Sellers, Denny Sellers IV, Jackson Salger, Charlotte Salger, Mason Salger, Peyton Salger, Maxenne Esker, Loreli Aubuchon, Felix Aubuchon, Lena Esker, Hadley Esker, Kilee (Camden) Bender and Seth (Maggie) Nolan, her great great grandchildren, Everleigh Sullens and Roy Elliott, her sisters, Lorna Schneider and Irma Birkner, her brother, Edward (May) Stellhorn, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Salger, her parents, Edward Sr. & Elma Stellhorn, her brothers, Arlin Stellhorn, Alfred Stellhorn and Gilbert Stellhorn, her sisters, Anita Salger and Irene Stamm, her sons-in-law, David Kluba and Brad Elliott Sr., and her great granddaughter, Georgia Kluba.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church Red Bud, IL., (Prairie), and on Saturday, September 28, 2024 an hour before the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, IL. (Prairie), with Rev. Scott Hojnacki, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud (Prairie), IL.
