Bernice was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence C. Kossina, her parents: Charles & Louise, nee Veit, Herrling and her sister: Velma Frierdich. She is survived by her son: Jay (Kathy) Kossina, her daughters: Judy (Daniel) Simmons & June (Arthur) Baumgartner, her grandchildren: Jessica & Ian Kossina, Joshua, Charles, Katherine & Michael Simmons, her 3 great grandchildren: Trevor Simmons, Preston & Briana Buffington, her brother-in-law: Robert Kossina, her sisters-in-law: Lorraine & Leona Kossina, she is also survived by many other relatives, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Millstadt Union Fire Department.
