Bernell Violet Mueller's Obituary
Bernell Violet Mueller (nee Ritter) of Columbia died peacefully in her sleep the morning of August 5 at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo where she resided over the past year. She was born October 29, 1925, in Columbia, IL, to the late Louis G. and Cora (nee Kremmel) Ritter. Bernell was received into the Kingdom of Grace through Holy Baptism on November 22, 1925, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia. On April 2, 1939 Bernell confirmed her baptismal vows at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Marvin H. Mueller on October 28, 1945, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, St. Louis County, the Rev. August K. Stenzel officiating.
Bernell worked as a telephone operator and an office employee in the St. Louis area, but is most remembered for being self employed as a beautician, working from her home for many years. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia, Bernell was active with Sunday School, Choir, Ladies Aid as both member and officer, Bible Studies, Couples Club, and organizing/leading members-young and old-for cleaning the church at its current location. She enjoyed hosting seminary students and clergy families, as well as cooking, baking, gardening and tending household plants, crocheting, and family gatherings.
