Bernard J. Jacobsmeyer, 92 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on April 17, 2023 in Columbia, IL. He was born October 11, 1930, in St. Louis, MO.
Bernard retired as a design engineer from Olin Corp. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Surviving are his children; Gary (Adrienne) Jacobsmeyer, Gail Sotak, Tim (Nancy) Jacobsmeyer, Tom Jacobsmeyer, and Kevin (Mary) Jacobsmeyer; 8 grandchidren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Reiter, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Ann J., nee Reiter, Jacobsmeyer, whom he married on January 16, 1954, and who died on February 2, 2019; parents, Bernard and Mary, nee Pils, Jacobsmeyer; son, Kenny Jacobsmeyer; grandson, Shane Heth; daughter-in-law, Chris Jacobsmeyer; son-in-law, Pete Sotak; sister Dorothea (Fred) Holman; brother-in-law, John Reiter.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
