Barry R. Korves, 78 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 20, 1945, in Red Bud, IL.
Barry was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL. He served in the U.S. Army reserves in the 1960's, he retired after working as a barber for over 50 years in Red Bud. Barry was also a farmer alongside his father for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, caring for pets, and following his favorite sports teams. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather..
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Barbara, nee Stamm, Korves of Red Bud, IL, his children, Tonya Sprenger of Dallas, TX., and Christopher (Megan) Korves of Louisville, KY., his grandchildren, Ryian and Calvin Korves, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Celestine Korves and his brother Ross Korves.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL., and on Monday May 1, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL., with Pastor Cory Hartz, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joh's Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Peter United Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL.
