August "Gussie" Burmester's Obituary
August "Gussie" Burmester, 94 years, of Red Bud, IL, passed away on October 30, 2020 at Red Bud Regional Care, Red Bud, IL. He was born August 13, 1926, in Red Bud, IL. He was married to Mildred "Millie", nee Harms, Burmester.
Gussie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Randolph County Farm Bureau. He was a life long farmer, which he loved. He loved animals and got so much pleasure from caring for them. He had also enjoyed talking to people and telling stories from the past. He cherished and adored his granddaughters.
Surviving are his two sons, Bruce Burmester of Red Bud, Keith (Tracy) Burmester of Red Bud; his three Granddaughters, Kayla Burmester of Red Bud, Brittney Burmester of Red Bud, Keri Burmester of Red Bud; along with other cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Millie", nee Harms, Burmester; his parents, August and Anna, nee Schoenbeck, Burmester; his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Emma, nee Heller, Harms; his two sisters, Anna Burmester, Aurelia Schliefer; his two brother-in-laws, Delmar Schliefer, Julius McCloure; and his sister-in-law, Carol McCloure.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all services will be private. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
