Armin Louis Speichinger's Obituary
Armin Louis Speichinger, 91, of Millstadt, Ill., born, November 10, 1923 in Millstadt, Ill., passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at St. Paul’s Home in Belleville, Ill.
Armin retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a repair dispatcher after 33 years. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Ill., member and past secretary at Columbia Masonic Blue Lodge 474 AF & AM, Ainad Shrine, Drum & Bugle Corps for 16 years, Royal order of Jesters Court #86, Rob Morris Chapter 6 times past patron, Millstadt Volunteer Fire Department, Millstadt Commercial Club where he was the longest living member and honored as being one of the Grand Marshals at the 2014 Millstadt Homecoming Parade. Village of Millstadt board for 2 years when the Village Hall was built, Telephone Pioneers of America, Past President State Chapter #1, Millstadt VFW Post 7980, & President of the Belleville Shrine Club. He was also a United States Army Veteran during the Korean War.
Armin was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Speichinger, nee Sliment and his parents, Edward L. & Gertrude I., nee Eckert, Speichinger.
Armin is survived by his son, Michael Speichinger, his daughters, Carol Speichinger & Linda Speichinger, he is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, or St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, IL.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois, with a fire department walkthrough at 5:30 p.m., a Jester walkthrough at 6:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Masonic service.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill., with Rev. Matt Friz, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, Ill.
