Anna Mae Toon Johnson's Obituary
Anna Mae Toon Johnson, 90 years of Columbia, IL, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017. She was born December 18, 1926, in Fancy Farm, KY. She was married to Bob Johnson, who survives her. They were married December 31, 1967.
Anna Mae was the former owner of the Duke and Duchess Beauty Shop in Millstadt, Il and the Golden Hair Pin Beauty Shop in Columbia, IL. She had also been employed at Hunter Packing Co., East St. Louis, IL.
Surviving are her daughter, Connie (Dave) Sauerwein of Columbia, IL; sister, Donna (Billy Joe) Burgess of Fancy Farm, KY; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Becky Toon, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Solon and Zada, nee Wedding, Higgins, 1st Husband, James Toon, sons, Michael Dean Toon, and James Gary Toon, brothers, Julian Higgins, Clarence 'Top' Higgins, Joseph 'Glen' Higgins, Joseph 'Joe' Harold Higgins, sisters, Mary 'Jenny' Martin, Elizabeth 'Betty' Wilford, and Mary "Loueva' Johnson.
Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2017, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday June 5, 2017 at Lawlor Funeral Home, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
