Anita I. Menke's Obituary
Anita I. Menke, nee Grahlherr, 78 years of Millstadt, IL, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL. She was born May 11, 1942, in Dupo, IL.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL.
She married James Menke on May 11, 1963. She raised 3 children, a son Richard Menke, daughter Sandra (Michael, a fantastic friend) Menke and a daughter, Karen (David) Batts, her granddaughter, Olivia Batts, whom she loved spending time with.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, James Menke, her parents, Harold and Olivia Grahlherr, her father-in-law, William Menke, her mother-in-law, Edith Menke, her sister MaryAnn Toenjes, her brother, Gerald Grahlherr (in infancy), a niece, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was a loving and caring wife, an awesome mom, and grandma. She loved her little companion dog Maya with all her heart. Mom was an excellent cook. She loved going to Six Flags and seeing the country concerts, she loved watching Jeopardy and was a big Alex Trebek fan. She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, she loved to embroider, and loved eating pizza from Papa Vito's.
Private family services will be held.
