Andy was preceded in death by his parents: Benjamin & Barbara, nee Kish, Szakacsi, his sisters & brothers: Elizabeth Gray, James Cook, Benjamin Szakacsi, Joe Szakacsi & Margaret Martinez. He is survived by his wife: Helen Szakacsi, whom he married May 2, 1948, his daughter: Jane (Dennis) Willenborg, his sons: Terry Szakacsi & Tim Szakacsi, his grandchildren: Rachel (Brian) Alexander, Keith Brown & Nathaniel Szakacsi, his great grandchildren: Collin, Chloe & Noah, his sisters-in-law: Mary Szakacsi, Leona Moskop & Mildred Haupt, he is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Andy retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a United States WWII Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS White Marsh in the Asiatic Pacific and earning five Bronze Stars. He worked in the Navy yard in California before going to the service. He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL. and he was a life member of the VFW post 6368 in Dupo, IL. Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Activity Fund or Christ United Church of Christ Elevator Fund.
