Alvin E. Moeller, 92 years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Red Bud Regional Care Center in Red Bud, IL. He was born March 29, 1926, in Baldwin, IL.
Alvin was a retired mechanic from International Harvester. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL and the VFW Post 6632 in Red Bud, IL. He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Genevieve Catherine Moeller, she preceded him on February 27, 2017, his parents, William and Hulda, nee Lange, Moeller, his brothers, Wilmer Moeller and Paul Moeller and his sisters, Erna Van Buren and Lucille Deterding
Surviving are his daughter, Faye (Gary) Schwartzkopf, his son, Ronald (Barb) Moeller, his grandchildren, Ben (Jill) Schwartzkopf, Lanie (Andy) Pensoneau, Mac (Rebecca) Moeller, Micah (Angie) Moeller and Miranda (Travis) Steinning, his brother, Rich (Jane) Moeller, his sisters, Lois Fuhrhop and Elsie (Wayne) Miller. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL, and on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 10-11 a.m.. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL, with Rev. Mark Nebel, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Bud 508 Bloom St., Red Bud, IL, 62278 .
