Alvin W. Ahlers, 80 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Columbia Rehab. and Nursing Center, Columbia, IL. He was born in Freeburg, IL, the son of the late William and Eunice (Wilderman) Ahlers.
Alvin was retired from Ameren - Union Electric, St. Louis, MO, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. His family was his greatest passion. Throughout his life he worked hard, helped friends and neighbors whenever needed.He was married to Rose (Demick) Ahlers, who survives him. They were married for over 57 years.
