Alvera A. Eschmann's Obituary
Alvera A. Eschmann, 99 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on June 1, 2017 at Integrity Health Care of Columbia, Columbia, IL. She was born August 22, 1917, in Columbia, IL. She was married to the late Elmer C. Eschmann. They were married November 18, 1939, in Columbia, IL, and were married for more than 64 years.. He had passed away February 20, 2004.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL. Many local folks will remember her as the chef at Eberhard's Restaurant in Columbia.
Surviving are her son, Bill (Erica) Eschmann of Gilbert, AZ; two granddaughters, Denise (Chuck) Chmielewski of Woodbury, MN, and Stephanie (Scott) Belcher of Mission Viejo, CA; five great-grandchildren, William Chmielewski, Rachael Chmielewski, Isabel Chmielewski, Payton Belcher, and Paige Belcher, along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Benard and Emma, nee Naumann, Habermehl; a brother, Robert Habermehl; and a sister, Mildred Rau.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Goddard officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
