Almira Minnie Mueth's Obituary
Almira Minnie Mueth, nee Muskopf, 91, of Millstadt, Ill., born, April 15, 1925 in St. Louis, MO., passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Almira had worked at the Rayon factory in Millstadt, then later worked as a clerk at the Millstadt Post office for 27 years. Almira was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill. for 77 years, she was confirmed on April 2, 1939, VFW Post 7980 ladies auxiliary in Millstadt, Ill., where she was the last serving member of the post that was chartered in 1948, she served in many capacities but was auxiliary secretary for 47 years. She enjoyed bowling and served as secretary for many years, she was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Swansea, Ill., and the Millstadt Home Extension.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henery “Hank” Mueth, her parents, Adolph and Mary, nee Boeckstiegel, Muskopf, her granddaughter, Georgia Ann “Gigi” Sauzek, and her brothers, Ken and Loren “Bud” Muskopf.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Maureen) Mueth, Charles (Cheryl) Mueth, Kathleen (Pete) Yeary and Kevin (Debby) Mueth, her grandchildren, Tim (Christi) Mueth, Craig (Melissa) Mueth, Patrick Yeary, Robert Yeary, Jennifer Yeary, Molly and Laurel Mueth, her great grandchildren, Ashley and Emily Sauzek, Hannah, Colin & Zander Mueth, Amber Yeary, Cailynn and Gianna Mueth, her grandson-in-law, Bernie Sauzek, her brother-in-law, Sylvester “Tuffy” Mueth, and a special thank you to Bert Hoepfinger for being such a good friend all those years. Almira is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Zion Evangelical Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Visitation: Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill., and Wednesday, June 8, 2016 an hour before the service at the church.
Funeral: Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill., with Rev. Darrell Weber, officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, Ill.
