Allan Wayne Carter's Obituary
Allan Wayne Carter, 60, passed away on March 31, 2025, at his home in Dupo, IL. Allan was born on January 1, 1965, in Pinckneyville, IL.
Except for a time period when he resided in Warsaw, Kentucky, he spent most of his life in Illinois. Allan worked long-term at McDonald's in Cahokia, IL, until he began working at Falling Springs Quarry in Dupo, IL in 2023. When not at work, Allan loved spending time with his dog, Jake. Allan was also a handyman. He loved tinkering with things and even built a power bicycle. He had a wide variety of interests including going to yard-sales, football, trucks, motorcycles, fishing and having BBQ or catfish dinners. Allan had a goofy sense of humor and will be missed deeply.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Winifred Carter (1999) and Orville William Cater (1990); his brother, Bruce William Carter (2022); his niece, Gabrielle Dawn Taylor (2020); his brother-in-law, James D. Dixon (2023); and his beloved dog, Dexter.
He is survived by his sisters, Kim (Dennis) Smith of Warsaw, KY and Barbara Dixon of Sanders, KY. He is also survived by his niece and nephews, Jessica (Stephen) Riddle, Isaiah (Kaylea & Nash) Ulrich and Ryan Robinson; as well as his close friend, Debbie Browning-Gibson.
Allan's family is currently working on private arrangements. Information regarding a potential memorial service will be shared when it becomes available.
