Alberta M. Erdmann's Obituary
Red Bud- Alberta M. Erdmann, 84, of Red Bud, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta.
Alberta was born on July 29, 1936 in Griggs to Monroe and Ruth (Stellhorn) Vallett. She married Melvin H. Erdmann on September 11, 1955 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baldwin. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2007.
When Alberta was young she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baldwin, after she married she became a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in (Prairie) Red Bud, IL. She was an member of Mary Martha Mission Society and the Ladies Aid.
She was a loving person who cared for her family and maintained her home. In her spare time she enjoyed to cook and sew, but most loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons; Neal Erdmann and wife Alma of Champaign and Larry Erdmann and wife Bev of Baldwin and daughters; Jill Giannotta and husband Carlo of Berwyn and Kim Kothe and husband Ron of Percy. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Chad (Becky) Erdmann, Nathan (Kayla) Erdmann, Adam (Tammy) Erdmann, Clayton (Rachel) Erdmann, Emily Giannotta, Grace Giannotta, Karina Giannotta, David Kothe and Aaron Kothe, 11 great grandchildren and two brothers; Si Vallett and wife Ann of Steeleville and Gary Vallett and wife Jeanette of Steeleville, her sister-in-law, Ailene Vallett of Florissant as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers; Gene, Don Allen, Marion and Mike Vallett.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud.
A private funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud. Pastor Scott Hojnacki will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud.
Memorial donations are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School in Prairie, Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie or Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School in Evansville and will be accepted at the Funeral Home or Church. For more information please visit, www.leesmanfuneralhome.com.
