Albert was preceded in death by his wife: Ethel Vollmer, nee Hankammer, his parents: Henry & Emma, nee Sinn, Vollmer and his sisters: Arline Boehm & Shirley Eckert. He is survived by his daughter: Roxy (Terry) Collins of Millstadt, IL., his son: Randy (Terri) Vollmer of Millstadt, IL., his grandchildren: Sean (Julie) Collins, Ryan (Melissa) Collins, Christopher Vollmer, Justin Vollmer, Heather (Christopher) Hopkins, & Nicole (Jarrod) McClanahan, his great grandchihldren: Kylee, Brayden & Peyton Collins, Avrey & Bryson McClanahan, and Alex, Kendal, Josie, & Zoe Hopkins, his sister: Judith Jacobs, his aunts: Irene Hoff & Viola Sinn, he is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Albert was born and raised in and around the Marissa, IL. He graduated from Marissa High School and attended classes at Washington University. After returning from WWII where he served in the 2nd Armored Division G Company as a squad leader serving in N. Africa, Sicily, Normandy invasion and St. Lo, France. Later he joined his aunt and uncle, Irene & Merton Baltz, in the insurance and real estate business. He was a Millstadt Township supervisor, was very active in the Millstadt American Legion Post 502 and Millstadt VFW Post 7980, Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and the Millstadt Volunteer Fire Department. Memorials may be made to Family Hospice, St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL. or Forrest Park Forever.
