Alan M. Bates' Obituary
Alan McMillion Bates, 47 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 12, 2019 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. He was born July 13, 1972, at Scott Air Force Base, IL.
Alan owned and operated a long distance freight hauling company.
Surviving are his fiance, Twanna Lee Mason; mother Willa, nee McMillion, Bates; son, Tyler McMillion (Jessica) Bates; daughter, Mackenzie Elizabeth Bates; granddaughter, Maelyn Elizabeth Bates; niece, Allison Elizabeth (Jacob) Ramsey and their daughter, Quinn Elizabeth Ramsey; Twanna's children, David Anthony (Emily) Mason, and Dillon Richard Mason; former wife, Michelle A. Bates; close friends, Mike Miller, Jason 'Red' Dinkleman, and Mike 'Mohawk' Larocca, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Bates; grandparents, William and Juanita McMillion; and sister, Elizabeth Yvonne Bates Evans.
Visitation on Monday, September 16, 2019, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Private family funeral services will be held.
